This privacy policy explains what information Classic Climate Controls collects when you use classicclimatecontrols.com, fill out one of our forms, or call us, and what we do with it. The short version: we use your information to answer your request and do the work you ask for, and we don't sell it.
Who We Are
Classic Climate Controls Inc. is a heating, cooling, and plumbing company based in Hopewell Junction, New York. This policy covers this website and the information you share with us when you contact us. You can reach us through our contact page.
What We Collect
Information you give us. When you send a quote request or contact form, we collect what you type in: your name, phone number, email address, town, the service you need, and any message you include. If you call or email, we have whatever you share in that conversation.
The form also records that you ticked the box agreeing to be contacted about your request. Each form also sends a few details it fills in by itself: a label for which form you used, such as the footer form or the contact page; on the homepage quote form, the choices you clicked: what kind of help you need, your town and county, the topics you picked, and how soon you need someone; and on our ad landing page, the service the page is about. One more field, named _gotcha, is hidden from people and only catches automated spam; any submission that fills it in is discarded.
Form submissions are received and stored by Basin, our form service, and forwarded by email to our business inbox and to the company that manages our website. We use them to reply to you, prepare a quote, and schedule the work.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit, such as your browser type, the pages you view, and the site that sent you here. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar tools. Our Cookie Policy explains which ones we use.
We don't ask for payment card numbers or Social Security numbers through the website.
How We Use It
We use your information to:
- Answer your request, give you a quote, and schedule and do the work
- Contact you about your service, by phone, text, or email
- Keep records of the work we've done at your home or building
- See how people find and use the website, so we can improve it
- Measure whether our online ads lead to real requests
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who Else Handles It
A few companies help us run the website and the forms, and they handle information on our behalf:
- Basin, which receives and stores our website form submissions and sends them by email to us and to the company that manages our website. Basin is based in Canada, so form submissions may be stored and processed outside the United States.
- The company that manages our website, which receives a copy of each form submission by email
- Vercel, which hosts the website and, to deliver each page, processes technical information about your visit, including your IP address
- Google Ads and Google Tag Manager, which together tell us when one of our ads led to a request
- Google Analytics (GA4), which counts visits and shows us which pages people use and how they found the site, using cookies set by Google, and gives us totals, not names
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers, or the public.
How Long We Keep It
Basin, our form service, keeps each website form submission for one year and then deletes it. The copies that reach our email and our website company's email, and our customer records, we keep for as long as we need them to serve you, keep accurate service records, and meet our legal and tax obligations, and we aim to delete them once we no longer need them.
How We Protect It
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information you share with us, including secure (HTTPS) connections on the website. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive information like account numbers through our forms.
Your Choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (including the copies our form service and our website company hold), through our contact page. You can also set your browser to block or delete cookies; the site will still work.
You can also stop Google Analytics from recording your visits with Google's opt-out browser add-on, and manage how Google uses your information for ads in your Google ad settings.
Depending on where you live, the law may give you more rights over your information. We honor the rights the law gives you, including under New York law.
Children
Our website and services are meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Links to Other Sites
Our pages link to other sites, like Google, Facebook, and Instagram. Their privacy policies apply when you're on their sites, not this one.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. Our website does not change how it works when it receives one, because there is no agreed standard for what the signal should do. Other parties, such as Google through Google Analytics and Google Ads, may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites when you visit ours.
